A very quick and easy way to create an animated GIF in slow motion is to use the "Speed" option in the settings offered in YouTube. Along with the super useful Chrome extension, "MakeGIF Video Capture", you can quickly and easily create a slow motion animated gif of any skill that you find demonstrated in a YouTube video. (To install the MakeGIF extension, click here.) If you add your GIF(s) to Google Slides, you can use a projector for whole-class skill development. Or, you can share, with your students, a presentation with a number of slides that include GIFs and, in stations, they can practice various skills.

NOTE: As I'm editing this on 3/1/20, the MakeGIF extension is not available in the Chrome Webstore. It is possible it will return, but want to offer an alternative that allows you to do the same things. The step by step directions can be found here: bit.ly/2Px11jN. The steps look long, but they are fast and easy to learn and allow you to do the same things as MakeGIF. In some ways I like this a bit better because it's easier to find the starting and ending point you want.

This, also, lends itself to methods of gamifying the learning of skills!You can learn to do this in just over 5 minutes, right here: goo.gl/SnpcUV. (Note, when you click the link to "Save GIF", if nothing happens, right click "Save GIF" and click "Open Link in New Window". The GIF will open in that new window and you can right click on the image there, choose "Save image as" and you'll be able to save it.)
